Located in northwest Oregon the county seat is located at McMinnville. Yamhill County is the center of Oregon's wine industry, having the largest area of any Oregon county planted in vineyards. Six of the state's American Viticultural Areas are wholly or partly in the county. Over 80 wineries and 200 vineyards represent the largest concentration of wine growers and producers in any county in the state. They say that the Pinot Noir produced in the county rivals the best in the world.

The world's largest airplane, the Spruce Goose, and over 150 historic aircraft, spacecraft and exhibits are housed at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, in McMinnville.
You can also see the world's fastest plane, the SR-71 Blackbird and a 112 foot tall Tital II SLV missile there. You can fly over the valley in a hot air balloon, shop for a special gift or browse for books at one of our antique or specialty shops, attend a local festival and much more during your visit.
